Exceeding: I will complete one acrylic painting on a hand-stretched canvas, that has beautiful shading, great unity and wonderful colors and value.

1. Describe: What is your project? What materials did you use to make it? How long did it take you to make?
-My project is a acrylic painting of a sunset with a quote on a hand-stretched canvas. I used acrylic paint, wood and canvas. It took me about a week to fully complete.
2. Evaluate: What are the good / strong parts of your project? What is done well and why?
-I think the good / strong parts of my project are the blending techniques and even coverage of paint. I this I did a great job stretching the canvas to make sure it was really tight.
3. Evaluate: What do you think you could have done better on this project and why?
-I could have done a better job with making another canvas instead of doing random sketches with water and markers.
4. Describe the attributes of your theme / unity: What is the deeper meaning of the project? What are you trying to communicate? What details did you use to reflect that theme?
- There is great unity because the paint all flows evenly together. The deeper meaning is relaxation. I used the relaxing colors of reds and blues.
5. Describe the important elements (blue-titled posters hanging in the art room) used in your design (at least 2): What are the important elements? Why do you believe those are the most important?
-I used great value and color. These are the most important elements because they capture the essence on the painting.
6. Describe the important principles (red-titled posters hanging in the art room) used in your design (at least 2): What are the important principles? Why do you believe those are the most important?
-I believe that unity and balance are displayed really well because the colors are blended very well.
7. Metacognate (think about your thinking!!!): What did you learn from this project that you could apply to other projects in the future? What lessons could be applied to life in general? Why?
-I learned that I should find more things to do rather than just create a lot of sketches. This can be used in life later on because I now know to make things more worthwhile.
EXCEEDING:
8. Evaluate and list the design process of your project (all of the steps you took to make it).
-First I made the canvas, and then I painted it with geso. After that I painted the image.
9. Why did you do the project the way you did? Was it planned? What is by chance? What changes did you have to make along the way (if any changes were necessary)? What challenges did you have and how did you overcome them? Elaborate...
-I did this painting this way because I wanted a painting that would be relaxing for my patio in my house. Yes this painting was planned. I made no changes.
10. Was this a worthwhile project for yourself and why? What project will you be doing next and why?
-Yes this was a worthwhile project for me because I made it for my house. I am planning on redoing a picture frame and painting on the glass for my sister.
