September's Art Project: Wall Mural
This project is a mural for my high school history teacher. She had wanted to put something on her back wall so I drew some things up, and she chose my first drawing.

1. Describe: What is your project? What materials did you use to make it? How long did it take you to make?
My project is a wall mural in one of my teachers room. I used acrylic paint and a projector. It took me about 2 weeks to accomplish.
2. Evaluate: What are the good / strong parts of your project? What is done well and why?
The good/strong parts of my project is the overall smoothness. What I did well was the overall effect.
3. Evaluate: What do you think you could have done better on this project and why?
I think I could have done better with the overall size, because it does not take up the whole wall like I planned.
4. Describe the attributes of your theme / unity: What is the deeper meaning of the project? What are you trying to communicate? What details did you use to reflect that theme?
I think that the deeper meaning to my mural is to show people that education has the power to change the world. I used the quote and the picture of the world to represent that.
5. Describe the important elements (blue-titled posters hanging in the art room) used in your design (at least 2): What are the important elements? Why do you believe those are the most important?
I used texture in my painting, using a smooth wall, and creating the continents and water to look textured, I layered different shades to make them look rough. I also used shape in my painting by having the quote circle around the circular world, so that it created unison. These are the most important, because it creates a detailed overall view.
6. Describe the important principles (red-titled posters hanging in the art room) used in your design
(at least 2): What are the important principles? Why do you believe those are the most important?
Movement is shown throughout, by the differences in the water and ground from the dark to light. Proportion is also used, because the quote is all evenly written, and the continents are all represent their true shapes. These are the most import because they make the whole thing look complete.
7. Metacognate (think about your thinking!!!): What did you learn from this project that you could apply to other projects in the future? What lessons could be applied to life in general? Why?
I learned how to work with a client, and how to do what they want, but still make it the way you want.
EXCEEDING:
8. Evaluate and list the design process of your project (all of the steps you took to make it).
- I asked my client if I could paint her wall
-I drew up designs
- Had her pick which one she wanted
- drew up the design on the wall
- started painting the globe
- painted the quote
9. Why did you do the project the way you did? Was it planned? What is by chance? What changes did you have to make along the way (if any changes were necessary)? Elaborate...
I did the project this way, because its what worked best. Yes it was planned. I had to make it smaller than I planned, because I couldn't get the projector to project any bigger.
10. Was this a worthwhile project for yourself and why? What project will you be doing next and why?
Yes this was a worthwhile project, because now my teachers classroom is not as bare as it was before.
