February project: canvas painting
I will be making a painting on a canvas of a zebra using acrylic paint.
Meeting: painting on purchased canvas
Exceeds: large acrylic painting on a stretched canvas, and re-doing my wooden letters of my name.
-I will be using rhythm and texture in my painting. The texture will be in the fur and the way it is blended. The rhythm will be how the colors alternate back and forth.

February Reflection:
1. Describe: What is your project? What materials did you use to make it? How long did it take you to make?
- My project is a painting of a zebra's face close-up. I used a boughten canvas, and black and white acrylic paint. It took me 2 weeks to draw and paint it.
2. Evaluate: What are the good / strong parts of your project? What is done well and why?
-I think the good / strong parts of my project are the blending techniques and the details because it is very well blended to make it look shaded.
3. Evaluate: What do you think you could have done better on this project and why?
-I could have done a better job with the eye because it seems to be a little smaller than it should have been.
4. Describe the attributes of your theme / unity: What is the deeper meaning of the project? What are you trying to communicate? What details did you use to reflect that theme?
The theme is the color using black and white grayscale. There really isn't a deeper meaning. Im trying to show that even in black and white, all things are beautiful.
5. Describe the important elements (blue-titled posters hanging in the art room) used in your design (at least 2): What are the important elements? Why do you believe those are the most important?
-I used line and value in my painting. Lines are important because they reflect the shape of the object, and value is used because I only used black and white to make the shading.
6. Describe the important principles (red-titled posters hanging in the art room) used in your design
(at least 2): What are the important principles? Why do you believe those are the most important?
I used balance and unity in my painting. These two work with the painting because they both show how the painting looks all together. The unity is in the painting because of how the black and white go throughout the painting. Balanced is used because I filled up the whole canvas.
7. Metacognate (think about your thinking!!!): What did you learn from this project that you could apply to other projects in the future? What lessons could be applied to life in general? Why?
- I learned that all things are beautiful no matter what they are. For future reference, I now know that I will be able to use my time better. A life lesson for life in general would be that in even the simpliest of things, there is beauty.
EXCEEDING:
8. Evaluate and list the design process of your project (all of the steps you took to make it).
-First I bought the canvas. Then I figured out the grid on the canvas., and then I painted the zebra.
9. Why did you do the project the way you did? Was it planned? What is by chance? What changes did you have to make along the way (if any changes were necessary)?
-I did the project this way because it is the way I wanted it to look. Yes it was planned because it will go good in my room. I would not make any changes on it.
10. Was this a worthwhile project for yourself and why? What project will you be doing next and why?
-Yes this was a worthwhile project for me because I will be using it in my room. My next project will be either a painting of a saying or coasters with pictures.
